Accessibility

We want Cebes to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time task.

What we’ve done

• Semantic page structure with real headings and landmarks.
• Form fields with associated labels, and errors that are announced to screen readers.
• Keyboard operability — interactive controls can be reached and used without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator, and menus and popovers can be dismissed with the Escape key.
• Accessible names for icon-only controls.
• Colour contrast improvements across text and controls.

Known limitations

Cebes is an evolving product and some areas are still being improved. If you encounter a barrier that isn’t listed here, we’d genuinely like to know.
